Car test fee
21/April/2006

A client was hit with a new example recently of the "Kir-on Principle of Pakidom", which, for the benefit of any of you who have not heard of it, defines "pakid" as "mi shemusmach lehagid lo".

This time it was not at the vat office, but at the newly independent Doar Israel Ltd. He was told, you can't pay for your car licence with a company check, the car is registered in your own name!

The solution is of course to pay by credit card, since the card is issued in one's personal name but hits the company bank account. However, since printing out the record of the payment from the internet does not create a receipt valid for this purpose, you have to do it well in advance in order to get the receipt by mail in time to take the test. I am not sure if you can use your card to do this at the post office rather than via internet or telephone, because this would solve that problem too.
